¡Hola! I'm a first-generation American living a very typical first-generation American life in the Midwest.

That’s to say: I'm tenacious and my parents really wish I’d been a lawyer. But, I’m grateful every single day for having discovered advertising. With the indefatigable energy that comes from doing precisely what I was meant to do, I ditched law school for Miami Ad School; worked my way up in agencies from NYC to Chicago to the Twin Cities; partnered with inspiring people to successfully launch new products, modernize iconic brands, breathe life back into flailing businesses, and produce everything from one-color tray-liners to million dollar commercials to pro-bono marketing for causes I believe in. And after 23 years of this, the part that still takes my breath away is the transformational impact a single idea can achieve.

New technologies certainly make our work faster (and I do LOVE that), but shepherding forward the right ideas–the ones that enrich companies and communities alike–takes deep intuitive understanding, which is why my specialty is in the combination of staying nimble (ahem, budget conscious) while being passionately curious. I'm an early adopter, a test-and-learner, a devoted ambassador for every team I work with - and I wouldn't have it any other way.

When I’m not working to change minds, I’m changing my corner of the world.

1 in 4 women become victims of Intimate Partner Violence, and most are too ashamed to ask for help. I wanted to do something about that, so I did: I cofounded a nonprofit called And Now She Rises.

In a nutshell: we produce events (fun, themed ones, like pajama parties at cocktail bars) and, in lieu of a ticket price, we ask guests to donate something the emergency abuse shelters we partner with really need (like brand new pajamas). In-between all the revelry, our guests mingle with strong, successful abuse survivors who smash the stereotypes and the stigma.

It’s a simple premise, but extraordinarily impactful. And so–while I don’t get to close my laptop at the end of the workday, because that’s when my role as ANSR’s sole designer/writer/instagrammer/publicist begins–I’m fulfilled by the hours I put in. Truly.

And when I’m away from work, I’m really A-W-A-Y.

I’m a grab-life-by-the-horns kinda gal who knows that if we snacked on a different fruit EVERY SINGLE DAY for the rest of our lives, we still wouldn’t get a chance to taste ‘em all, but is dead-set on trying anyway.
